AUDITION NOTICE

Pennsylvania Playhouse announces auditions for their April production of Neil Simon’s crowd-pleasing farce Rumors.

When:   Sunday, February 7th  - 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM 

& 

Monday, February 8th  - 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM.

Where:  Pennsylvania Playhouse, Illicks Mill Road, Bethlehem, PA

Who:   5 Men, 5 women, 21 & older. Character ages range from 25 up to mid-50s.

Character Breakdown

Characters age ranges are ideal and intended as a guideline. Gorman and Ganz couples are most clearly at the life stage in which they are beginning to really enjoy their success, and do not want to jeopardize it, or return to “the struggle.”   Please consider roles if you feel you can represent the age ranges listed. All roles open, and open to any race/ethnicity.

Ken Gorman: Male, around 40. A well-spoken, handsome attorney - high strung.

Chris Gorman: Female, mid-thirties. Ken’s elegant and attractive wife, also an attorney…and even more high strung.

Lenny Ganz: Male, 32-42. An accountant who has just wrecked his brand new BMW. Irascible, sarcastic, and very likeable.

Claire Ganz: Female, 30-40. Lenny’s gossip-monger attractive wife. A Westchester, New York  homemaker/mom of young children, whose social life seems to center around ‘the club.’ 

Ernie Cusak: Male, 40-50. A psychiatrist and rather doting husband.

Cookie Cusak: Female, 40-50s. Ernie’s wife and a cooking show host with a bad back. She has very dramatic tendencies, and is very physical. 

Glenn Cooper: Male, 35-50s. An ambitious, polished man preparing for a run for the state senate.

Cassie Cooper: Female, mid-twenties. Glenn's trophy wife--Insecure, sexy, intense, severely superstitious. A jealous type.

Officer Pudney: Male or Female, 25-35. A rookie cop.

Officer Welch: Male or Female: 35-50. A vigorous, straight- talking, veteran officer.
